Does God use numbers to speak to us?
This is a common question amongst Christians who have associations with those who practice new age. I have a strong opinion on this and have done an abundance of research on this sensitive subject, while praying to The Lord to provide the wisdom for those like myself who needed a wake up call.
I find myself seeing 111, 555, 777, 888, and 999 which new age practitioners who would state these are “Angel numbers” and each have their own divine message for you. I won’t go into details about what each number is supposed to mean, as that’s not the intention for this post … but rather to share what I have learned through my research and my personal opinion, as I LOVE numbers.
I don’t have a specific meaning attached to each number, however, triple numbers to me are reminders from God that I am doing a good job and on the right path to my life’s purpose. Some would say that numbers is considered divination, and to stay as far away from giving them meaning as possible as it’s not the Christian thing to do. But I want to share with you my experiences with divine messages from God and how each time they bring me closer to my relationship with Him.
There is false prophets all around us who will perform acts that amaze us but will only bring us farther away from The Lord. As it says in Mark 13:22-23 “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.” God is warning us that there is definitely things to be weary about around us, but if something feels good and is bringing you closer to God I do not see the harm in it. As long as you see and believe and know it is from God, that is what matters.
As I am writing this post, I glanced up and lone behold it’s now 4:44 pm, now here is where the psychology behind these numbers come into play. Have you ever purchased a vehicle that you thought nobody had? You were excited! Then after the purchase it seemed like that’s all everyone drove? Or perhaps you’re a woman and you thought you were pregnant, so you kept seeing pregnant women, items shaped like a pregnant belly, or babies? It is all in your mind. You are simply seeking something subconsciously, when it always appears.
Everything is coincidental, you will attach a believe to anything if it helps you to make decisions in your life. I choose to believe that these numbers are God speaking to me, reminding me that I’m doing a good job and on the path towards my God given purpose.
But as I mentioned above, I noticed 4:44 pm and believe it or not my phone went off and I got a message from a confused friend saying “Have you ever heard of angel numbers before? I thought you’d be a good person to ask.” I can’t make these things up! We had a deep conversation about it and I prayed for God to speak to her through me, which He truly did. She now had clarity on it, which is ironic, as the one thing she wanted to do that she was afraid about was quitting her job and going to school to be an accountant… working with numbers lol! Too funny!
I want to share a story with you of when I quit my job and how God chooses to communicate to us all in different ways. I told God that my sign from Him is an Eagle and right after I quit my job my spouse and I went on a camping trip. While we were driving the panic started to hit me so I broke down in prayer asking God to give me a sign that I’m exactly where He needs me to be, “show me an eagle Lord” is what I said. A few minutes later we drove past signs that said Eagle Bay, Eagle Cove, and Eagle Drive. I laughed and got snarky and said “No God, I meant a real eagle with wings and can fly.” A few minutes later I saw what I thought was an eagle but wasn’t sure, so I had one last request for God which was for Aaron to point it out. Less than 30 seconds later in a field was 3 eagles on the ground that Aaron pointed out to me, which is crazy because they don’t normally travel in groups!
My point is, that anything can be a sign from God if you decide it is. If you see repetitive numbers and smile thinking of God, then I do not see any harm or foul in that habit. Anything that brings you closer to God is a good thing, and I will tell you that God knows exactly what will speak to you.
